To all secondary 1/2 Hwa Chongians, here are a few ways you can attain a leadership position:
- During your CCA, behave well and perform at your best. Make sure you meet the criteria of hitting 75% or more for the attendance rate in turning up for your CCA, as this shows your commitment for your CCA. When you reach secondary 2, there will be elections as to who will be the captain/chairman of the CCA, and if you are confident enough, we recommend you to give it a shot in stepping up to be captain/chairman. There will be the vice-captain/deputy chairman position as well.
- Council elections is another way. Do read your EMB often, and to secondary ones and twos who are interested, you can sign up and be a member of the student council. Of course, it will not be easy to just become one, for there will be council elections for both Secondary 1 and 2s who are interested. You will also be required to go for various councillors' camps to hone your resilience and determination, in order to become a councillor of Hwa Chong Institution.
- Class Management Committee(CMC). This is a committee that every class, from secondary 1 to 4, has. There will be 5 positions in the CMC: Chairman, Monitor, Secretary, Facility Secretary and Welfare Secretary. If interested and willing to do the tasks these roles are assigned to do, we recommend you to go for the elections to attain the role you want to have. Of course, once you have gained one of the above positions, you must be responsible for the respective tasks you are assigned in your classroom.
